Week 3 has come and gone and we got another match in the books. Will Bass was able to take down Brice Kinney 3&2 at Downing Farms thanks to a much needed range session the day before to get some confidence in the irons. Brice was giving 4 shots and Will was able to take advantage either winning or halving with the strokes. Interestingly in the end Will shot a 96 while Brice shot a 92, showing that handicap figure was spot on! Billy George played alongside the match and is finding his groove. He was able to top his previous score, going pretty low with an 86 in a bid to hold on to the King of the Course.

Things began to heat up here in the EGA with our first official match taking place this past Saturday at Downing Farms between Billy George and Andrew Alexander. It was a close match most of the way, but Billy held strong on the back nine to not only close the match 4&3, but also claim another King of the Course with a 90.Brice snuck out to the Myth to claim King of the Course there with a 92.Group B will open up its match play this week as Brice Kinney and Will Bass face off at Downing Farms.Brendan made some solid gains on his handicap increasing by 2.6 strokes already. This man has come to play in 2021!

Billy pulled off an early-round on one of the designated courses for “King of the Course” – Devil’s Ridge, and earned 500 points with a 91 — who will steal those 500 points? Will Nick make the drive over to Oxford to boost his rankings? Rumor is, Brice shot a 92 at The Myth (another king of the course location) this week and when rankings refresh on Monday, he’ll be up in the top 5. Rumor also has it that Brice will be trying to secure a second king of the course holding with a round at Downing Farms this weekend. Lot’s of early jockeying going, but 10 players opting to extend the offseason and take a rest leading into Master’s Week. The rest might pay off – it’s going to be a long season.
